Kant's Question 4

Projects

The Association 'Kunst ist gut e.V.' has been supporting the art project weltfragen by Roland Kreuzer, Berlin, Germany since 2001. Kreuzer has been working since 1996 on "weltfragen", which is conceived as an art work for public spaces. The basis of the work are the four Kant Questions:

1. Was kann ich wissen?
2. Was soll ich tun?
3. Was darf ich hoffen?
4. Was ist der Mensch?
(Immanuel Kant, Logik, first edition: Königsberg 1800)

Kreuzer is working with a version of this question and their translations. The artist's longterm goal is to distribute them on billboards in all languages of the world. To date, Kreuzer has received translations into 80 languages through numerous contacts with universities, linguists, native speakers and philosophers in many countries.

In 2005 we organized in cooperation with Roland Kreuzer the project weltfragen im Libanon in Beirut, Lebanon. In October 2006 the book has been published, which contains all contributions to the symposion in English, German and Arabic and photographs of the billboard action; 80 pages, 50 coloured photographs, charge for protection and delivery 10 €.
